WARP Player is an open-source browser player for MoQ Transport, initiated by Eyevinn Technology, a Stockholm-based M&E-focused video streaming consultancy and platform builder. The player is based on moq-js and built to play WARP-style media over MoQ.
Key features
- Based on moq-js
- Auto-negotiates MoQT draft-14 and draft-16 via WebTransport ALPN; users can force a specific version from the UI
- Two interchangeable pipelines: MSE/CMAF (default for CMAF tracks, handles EME-encrypted content) and WebCodecs/LOC (clear-only, supports AVC, HEVC, AAC, Opus)
- Auto engine mode selects the appropriate renderer based on the catalog and selected tracks
- MIT licensed
Status
Early-stage project. No large company is currently behind it and community adoption is limited, but the licensing and codebase make it a candidate to track.
